What will I study?

The  Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work comprises of two units which cover the following topics:

Unit 1 – Emergency First Aid in the Workplace

• the roles and responsibilities

• assess an incident

• unconscious casualties who are breathing normally

• unconscious casualties who is not breathing normally including cardiopulmonary resuscitation

• choking

• external bleeding

• shock

• minor injuries

Unit 2 - Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the workplace.

• conduct a secondary survey

• injuries to bones, joints and muscles

• head and spinal injuries

• chest injuries

• burns and scalds

• eye injuries

• sudden poisoning

• anaphylaxis

• major illnesses

How will I be assessed?

Practical assessment, activities and an examination.
