This is a course for those people wishing to gain a Level 3 qualification in First Aid at Work. It is certified by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. Candidates that successfully complete this course will be able to act as the first aider in the work place.
This qualification is a three day course which is composed of two units: Unit 1 – Emergency First Aid in the workplace Unit 2 – Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the workplace
How long does it take?
3 days-It is mandatory requirement that candidates should be requalified every 3 years
What will I study?
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work comprises of two units which cover the following topics:
Unit 1 – Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
the roles and responsibilities
assess an incident
unconscious casualties who are breathing normally
unconscious casualties who is not breathing normally including cardiopulmonary resuscitation
choking
external bleeding
shock
minor injuries
Unit 2 - Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the workplace.
conduct a secondary survey
injuries to bones, joints and muscles
head and spinal injuries
chest injuries
burns and scalds
eye injuries
sudden poisoning
anaphylaxis
major illnesses
How will I be assessed?
Practical assessment, activities and an examination.
